Radiation Therapist

SCOPE: Under direct supervision, administers radiation therapy treatments to patients. Accuracy in positioning the beam of radiation to correspond with the designated tumor volume and accurately delivering the prescribed dose are paramount job functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
  • Accurately enters and maintains patient treatment parameters into electronic medical record. Participates in clinical instruction of newly hired therapist and students.
  • Assists in maintaining patient appointment schedule and submitting correct billing information.
  • Accurately cuts blocks, when applicable..
  • Accurately makes custom molds.
  • Accurately completes simple mu calculations.
  • Accurately interprets a computerized treatment plan.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and organized work environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program. Minimum 3 years experience actively practicing as an RTT. ARRT certification required. Must hold valid state license in radiation therapy. 

 

Medical Technologist, PCR Molecular Tech.
Seeking a registered Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or equivalent) to join quality oriented staff in state of the art medical laboratory. Opportunity for professional growth and rewarding patient contact. Phlebotomy experience required; some hematology experience helpful. This is a full time position located at our Portland Providence Hospital location.

Responsible for accurately performing high complexity testing and analyses according to established procedures for all phases of testing: pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic in a PCR/Molecular clinical Laboratory.  Performs and troubleshoots molecular techniques, using conventional, real-time PCR and RT-PCR and other methods as required.  Develops and performs validation studies and prepares reports and documentation for test methods to ensure CLIA compliance under the guidance and supervision of the Pathologist and Lab Manager.  Provides guidance to laboratory personnel; may organize daily work flow.

The ideal candidate will possess:
*Excellent phlebotomy skills.
*Knowledge of clinical laboratory principals, practices, and protocols.
*Good verbal skills required for communicating with patients and other medical personnel.
*Ability to concentrate and attend to detail in a busy environment.
*Hematology experience preferred.
*Basic computer literacy preferred.

Requirements: 
B. S. in Medical Technology or A. A. in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited college; and Certification or Registry (MT, MLT, CLS, CLT) from a government agency or nationally recognized professional organization (for example, American Society of Clinical Pathology, National Credentialing Agency, etc.) OR eligible for Certification or Registry. 

RN - New Patient Coordinator
Seeking an Oncology Nurse to join our team as the New Patient Coordinator for our Rose Quarter Cancer Center.  

  • Take all incoming new patient calls from referring physician offices and patients. 
  • Identify consult time/physician, save consult time in practice management system, and relay information to scheduler.
  • Contact the patient regarding information about our office, their diagnosis and provide support and education prior to the visit.  
  • Coordinate mailing of the new patient packet and communication regarding date of consult to the referring physician office.  
  • Obtain records prior to the consult visit.  
  • Meet with the patient in person at the consult visit; provide education regarding oncology/office. 
  • Participate in marketing to referring physician practices and hospital nurse specialists/care coordinators in conjunction with Practice Oncology Liaisons. 

The successful candidate will be able to establish relationships with new patients and work collaboratively with site physicians, referring physicians and their office staff, medical assistants, and schedulers.  Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. Demonstrates knowledge of age specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. This includes physiological, psychological, and developmental differences unique to each group.

REQUIREMENTS:Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.  At least 3 years nursing experience.  Preferably, at least one year oncology nursing experience.  RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state required.  Current OCN certification preferred. Current CPR certification required.  Must maintain continuing education requirements.

 

Clinical Services Director
Develops, plans, and directs the statewide clinical activities at multiple locations in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Advises the Executive Director and the Joint Practice Board regarding clinical programs, issues, and policies. Recommends organizational objectives to assure the maintenance of quality patient care and financial profitability. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in nursing, healthcare, or business field required (MSN, MBA or MHA preferred). Minimum seven years experience in healthcare management including three years prior supervisory experience. Experience in Oncology/Hematology office management. Current state licensure for applicable clinical educational background. OCN credential preferred.

Social Worker
Seeking full-time Social Worker to join our team.  The Social Worker provides counseling services to patients requiring emotional and psychosocial assistance. Provides knowledge of agencies and organizations offering emotional, physical, social, and financial services to patients and families.  The role includes social services and short term counseling.  This individual will collaborate with clinical staff and the financial counselors of the practice. 

This position will require traveling in the Portland/Vancouver area supporting all of our site locations. 

Successful candidate will have excellent social service and counseling skills.  The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Demonstrate the ability to engage patients and families in support plans through professional and companionate communications. Oncology and hospice experience required.

Nurse Practitioner
Seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our team. We currently have a position available at our, St. Vincent's location. This position is full time, 40 hours a week.  Full benefits package offered.  

The NP provides primary care in collaborative joint practice with the physician to oncology patients. Scope of responsibility includes expert practitioner, educator/teacher, care management, consultant, nurse researcher, and nurse leader. Successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Demonstrate the ability to engage patients in care plan through professional and companionate communications.

Requirements Qualifications include: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. Minimum of three years post MSN experience in oncology nursing. Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in Oregon. Current state certification of Nurse Practitioner. Current CPR certification required. ACON certification required.

Research Data Coordinator
Seeking a Research Data Coordinator for our Vancouver Cancer Center Location.  This position is responsible for the collection, coordination, processing and quality control of clinical trial data. May assist with screening patients for research protocols. Maintains research protocol information, regulatory documents and other research files as applicable.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required, some college coursework or other relevant background preferred. Three-five years medical office experience (preferably in oncology) and knowledge of medical terminology required. Research experience required, experience as a data coordinator highly preferred. SoCRA or ACRP certification preferred.  Proficiency in MS programs such as Wod, Excel, and Outlook.

RN / OCN
NO NIGHTS, WEEKENDS, or HOLIDAYS! Part Time RN or OCN position, 16 hours per week.
